In this talk, I will present a construction of arbitrarily decaying initial data for the stability of Minkowski spacetime as solutions to the Einstein equations. Initial data on a spacelike hypersurface need to solve the so-called constraint equations, i.e a geometric nonlinear underdetermined elliptic system. I will show how one can parametrize solutions in a neighborhood of Minkowski spacetime and address linear obstructions coming from conservation laws in general relativity. This is a joint work with Allen Juntao Fang and Jérémie Szeftel.
$$ \hat{H}_{2\sf{s}+1} = ( -\frac{\hbar^2}{2m}\triangle + V)\mathbb I_{\mathbb{C}^{2\sf{s}+1}} + \hbar\hat{C}\cdot S.$$
Used by the work of Koch-Tataru on Navier-Stokes equations, the theory of tent spaces turns out to be useful to deal with evolution equations with very rough initial data. In this talk, we shall discuss the recent progress on studying linear parabolic equations with time-independent, uniformly elliptic, bounded measurable complex coefficients via tent spaces. The talk is based on a joint work with Pascal Auscher.
In 1996 L. Erdös showed that among planar domains of fixed area, the smallest principal eigenvalue of the Dirichlet Laplacian with a constant magnetic field is uniquely achieved on the disk. I will present a joint work with R. Ghanta and L. Junge, in which we establish a quantitative version of this inequality: we add an explicit remainder term depending on the field strength that measures how much the domain deviates from the disk.
