Scalar conservation laws with heterogeneous flux: Existence of BV solutions

I will focus on the existence of BV solutions to scalar conservation laws whose flux may have a non-continuous dependence on the spatial variable x. Our approach is based on the front tracking method. Such models arise in traffic flows. (work in collaboration with B. Piccoli)
