Linear independence in the rational homology cobordism group

We give simple conditions for a collection of rational homology spheres to be linearly independent in the rational homology cobordism group. These translate immediately to statements about knot concordance, recovering some results of Livingston and Naik. The key ingredient is correction terms (of either flavour).
